Resident Chaplaincy Assistant – Oswestry
Oswestry School is an independent, co-educational day & boarding school, with a 11-18 senior school of c.350 pupils and a 4-11 junior school (Bellan House) of c.120 pupils. The strong ethos of the school is reflected in its fabulous pastoral care and sense of community. The School recently underwent inspection, with an excellent report. As well as providing a fantastic learning and living environment for
young people, Oswestry School offers an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding working environment. The School has a Christian foundation, its own chapel, and a chaplain, the Reverend Andrew Cranston. Holy Trinity is a Church of England Church led by the Reverend Paul Darlington and is a church who try, by using the Scriptures, to keep Jesus Christ at its heart. The church family is made up of over 100 people of many different ages, backgrounds and stages of Christian understanding.
Resident Chaplaincy Assistant
Oswestry School in partnership with Holy Trinity seeks an assistant to support the School and its chaplaincy and to assist in the life of Holy Trinity Church. Living on the School campus, there will be an expectation of assisting in one of the boarding houses. Further responsibilities will be divided equally between the School and the Church and will be tailored to suit the strengths and interests of the successful candidate. It is also expected that one day a week would be given over to a Gospel
Partnership Ministry Training Course.
The role will suit a recent graduate who is a practising, servant-hearted Christian looking to move into the arena of pastoral ministry or teaching.

Outdoor Education Coordinator and DofE Facilitator
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adventure Plus coaching team.
The role will be based at our partner school in Birmingham, Broadway Academy, and the candidate will have responsibility for heading up the school’s outdoor education provision including DofE, and hillwalking days. There will also be a chance to develop a number of other Outdoor Edn initiatives in this school and possibly to spread good practice amongst other academies in the area.
The successful candidate will have a passion for seeing young people enjoying God’s creation; experience of running the DofE award within the confines of a school and the experience and qualifications to lead groups on expeditions.
This is a full time role and includes regular work during term time weekends.
The salary offered will be in the region on £25,000-£28,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
Desired qualifications would be an ML, SPA, DofE Assessor and a LEL3 tutor. Some form of biking qualification (MIAS/ British Cycling) would also be advantageous.
The candidate will be an Adventure Plus employee but be based in Birmingham, at Broadway Academy. They will need the organisational and communication skills to liaise with both companies to ensure the successful provision of outdoor activities an coordination across the two teams. Finally, it is an occupational requirement for the candidate to be an active Christian, having a passion for spreading the good news of our Christian faith and looking to provide a Christian presence amongst our team.
