TISCA Chaplains’ Conference – October 2020
updated 4 June 2020 – ed
TISCA are pleased to confirm their forthcoming Chaplains’ Conference. This event is to be held again in the Elim Conference Centre, West Malvern, as in April 2019.
The topic for our conference is ‘Chaplains’ Toolbox – How to Thrive and not Strive’. The format will be similar to previous years with Bible readings while our special speakers will each deal with a separate aspect of chaplaincy and its application. Topics within our ‘Toolbox’ include
- The Chaplains’ Calling
- Critical Incidents within schools
- Religion and Sex Education (RSE legislation)
- The Head and the Chaplain
There will also be a session for sharing best practice and ideas with each other, time for rest and reflection and will close with a united service of Holy Communion.
This will be the latest in a series of TISCA Chaplains’ Conferences (previously Chaplains’ Consultations) that we have been holding at intervals of roughly 18 months ever since 2005: each of the conferences has proved to be a time of blessing and encouragement for those who were able to attend.
The Conference will start with dinner on Monday 12, October and conclude with lunch on Wednesday 14, October.
The residential cost for both TISCA members and non-TISCA members will be £290 all inclusive residential with single ensuite rooms. For day visitors the cost will be £120.
If we are not able to meet in person we will offer a full day’s training on Tuesday 13 October for £25. We will notify everyone if this is the case nearer the time.
