You are invited to join us for a special evening we have arranged in Dulwich in Friday November 30th 2018. The programme for the evening will be as follows:
3.00 pm Assemble at the Dulwich Picture Gallery. This is a delightful gallery – the oldest in London – with some wonderful paintings on display.
5.15 pm Special Evensong in Dulwich College Chapel.
6.30 pm Reception with drinks and canapes at Alleyn’s School.
Our special guest for the evening will be Dr. Nicholas Cranfield, FSA, who is Vicar of Blackheath and the author of regular articles on the visual arts in the Church Times. He will escort us round the gallery, and will offer some thoughts at the Reception on ways in which Gallery visits can help to foster an appreciation of art – and particularly religious art – in the context of a school.
An additional reason for coming to Dulwich this November is the fact that Anthony Buckley is finishing his term of service as Chaplain at Alleyn’s this December, prior to taking up his new appointment at St. Michael at the Northgate, Oxford, in the New Year. Anthony is a TISCA Trustee, and has been of conspicuous help to the cause of Christ in independent schools over the past decade. We are grateful to Anthony for agreeing to host this evening at a time when he will have many other calls on his time.
The inclusive cost for the evening (including Gallery admission) will be £38.00. Please click here to view full details and a booking form, and join us if you can on 30 November.
